On 1st February 2018, the Department of Environment and the Training Division signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to jumpstart the capacity building in the DoE. As a National Implementing Entity (NIE) for environment and climate change projects, the Department of Environment is required to ensure that all staff, and implementing stakeholders, are appropriately trained to respond to the all facets of the projects that will be implemented over the next few years. And, like everything else that is done within the DoE, this is in response to the mandate provided by the Environmental Protection and Management Act, 2015.
The Department of Environment and the Training Division will co-operate to promote, facilitate and implement training in Gender and Environment and Social Safeguards, Project Proposal Writing, Project Appraisal and the No Objection Procedure. Additionally, further training will be conducted with the DoE Staff on their various Internal Operational Manuals.See the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Department of Environment and the Training Division at this link.
